As many of you know, the last many months have brought many changes in the McCant household. Since the middle of the summer having felt we were to start preparing for some new directions, we have gone through many different adjustments.
After feeling we needed to simplify and start to prepare for the next step God would have us walk in, Lesa and I started seeking God on what this may look like. Having been in Dublin at this time 1 1/2 years we were feeling this was not the place we would be staying in long-term. In August Lesa stepped down from her position (which as far as the job was concerned happened to be our primary source of income); this was a decision we both felt needed to be done in order for her and I to get back to the things which meant more in our lives than having a job dictate what we should be doing.
She then started working with me in the lawn care business and we operated our business together and God continued as always to provide for our needs. Through a series of events we had started to simplify again. Our truck sold in September and after finishing all the business we had equipment to do, all of our equipment sold in November. In September we had put our house on the market to sell and continued to pray for this as we watched God take care of the rest.
After Thanksgiving we made a road trip to Indiana for a visit to Lesa's family and while there an side trip to Denver. Our trip to Denver was in order to explore the possibility of rejoining YWAM as part of what we were feeling as our guidance. We were there the week of the tragic shooting which took the lives of two staff members and injured two others. It was during this time and the few days prior where God continued to draw us closer to this community and began to solidify the call in our hearts to be back in Denver with our family there.
After 8 days in Denver we returned to Indiana for another week and much snow. It was our desire to spend a few weeks total in Goshen to be with Lesa's mom and dad. After being there about 20 days we made our trek back to Dublin where we joined my family for time together for Christmas.
Just prior to returning to Dublin, we received a call concerning the sell of our home and after 3 months on the market, we have entered into contract with an older couple who had made us an offer which we accepted.
Up to this point, the sell of our house was the biggest provision we felt we needed in order to move ahead. Now we are praying for inspections, and other housing details to go smoothly as we make a way through selling a home. This also brings in the obstacle of finding a place to live in Colorado which is a bit difficult being at a distance.
Please pray as you can for God's wisdom and understanding as we take these next steps. It is our desire to have His timing in everything and we believe this has been the case up to this point.
Thank you for reading and we will try to keep things updated from here on.
